What is GORE-TEX?

GORE-TEX is a high-tech laminate of the unique GORE-TEX membrane and textiles with exceptional durability, flexibility and performance. This membrane allows perspiration to pass through from the inside, while blocking wind and rain from the outside. GORE-TEX measure the carbon footprint of their products during their whole life cycle, from cradle to grave. This life cycle-analysis has clearly proven that the by far most efficient way to lessen a garments climate impact, is to increase its longevity. GORE-TEX technology

The membrane has 1,4 billion microscopic pores per square centimeter. This makes every pore 20 00 times smaller than a drop of water, corresponding to rain from the outside. At the same time, the pores are 700 times larger than water vapor, which makes it possible for perspiration to pass through the membrane. Through this perfect balance, GORE-TEX becomes the perfect barrier between you and the elements of weather.
