Italian fashion house Prada began life as a supplier of exclusive leather goods in Milan's prestigious Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II back in 1913. Today, the company is run by Miuccia Prada, granddaughter of founder Mario Prada, known for her forward-thinking designs focused on clean lines and discreet luxury.
In 1919, Prada was awarded the title of Purveyors to the Royal Italian Court. This allowed the brand to use the coat of arms of the House of Savoy and the knot emblem in their logo, furthering enhancing Prada's status as the benchmark for Italian luxury.
