About Tank
Founder Louis Cartier created the Cartier Tank in 1917. The design was inspired by the lines of the French tank Renault FT-17. The first prototype of the Cartier Tank was given to US General John Pershing in 1918. Today, the Cartier Tank is the design house's most significant watch model, and over the years it has been designed in variants such as the Cartier Tank Solo, Tank Americaine and Tank Basculante. The Cartier Tank Asymétrique is diamond-shaped and its dial is rotated 30 degrees clockwise in the case.
Although the Cartier Tank may appear small and discreet, both men and women have worn it with equal enthusiasm since its inception in 1918.
