About Manopoulos
Since 1972, Greece’s Manopoulos has been brightening its customers’ everyday lives and bringing people together with its handmade, limited edition boardgames. The company’s exceedingly high standards are reflected in the quality, material and design of each product that leaves its Thebe workshop. For Manopoulos, each individual board game tells its own story.
The inspiration for this unique concept comes from founder Costas Manopoulos who, at a young age, began noticing the joy that his father felt upon meeting friends for a game of backgammon after a hard day’s work. While studying in Athens, Costas created his first bronze chess set at the age of 21, carving each piece by hand in his free time between lectures. Soon thereafter, he decided to devote himself to his hobby full-time.
