In their factory in Mantova, Italy, family-run Astorflex have been producing handmade shoes since the beginning of the 1900s. Now in their seventh generation of ownership under Fabio Travenzoli, Astorflex, through their responsible and sustainable production process, make what may be the world’s best chukka boots.
After the First World War, a new kind of boot emerged using what was considered to be an ideal production method – outer stitching along the edge of the sole. The resulting models, most commonly known as chukka boots or desert boots, make for a versatile and casual shoe with the lacing producing a slightly chunkier look.
