Introduced in 2005, the Omega Planet Ocean is a relatively new addition to the Omega family. The model was launched partly as a facelift of the 1960s Seamaster 300 Ref. 165.024, and was the first watch to house Omega's calibre 2500 movement with the brand's co-axial escapement. At launch, the Omega Planet Ocean released in two sizes, 42 and 45.5mm, and came in the colours black and orange.
The watch is rated to withstand a depth of 600m, or 2000ft, which is twice as much as previous watches in the Seamaster family. Usually you find the Omega Planet Ocean on a three-segment steel link. The first orange version was sold with an eye-catching orange rubber strap.
